Now that the 2022-23 college football season is over, PFF's Mike Renner reveals his top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft.
QUARTERBACK
A year after many were doing their best to find nice things to say about the crop of draft quarterbacks, the 2023 class has a little something for everyone.
- 10. Clayton Tune, Houston (RS Senior | 6-3, 220)
- 9. Jake Haener, Fresno State (Sixth Year | 6-1, 200)
- 8. Aidan O’Connell, Purdue (Sixth Year | 6-3, 210)

RUNNING BACK
To say the 2023 NFL Draft running back class is loaded would be an understatement. There are multiple backs who didn’t even make this top 10 that would have cracked the top five in the 2022 class.
- 10. Roschon Johnson, Texas (Senior | 6-2, 222)
- 9. Keaton Mitchell, ECU (Junior | 5-9, 184)
- 8. Kendre Miller, TCU (Junior | 6-0, 220)

WIDE RECEIVER
The wide receiver class in the 2023 NFL Draft is arguably the weakest at the position in half a decade, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely bereft of talent.
- 10. Rashee Rice, SMU (Senior | 6-2, 203)
- 9. Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee (Junior | 6-0, 185)
- 8. Parker Washington, Penn State (RS Sophomore | 5-10, 212)

TIGHT END
Tight end is arguably the strongest position group in the 2023 NFL Draft. There’s a real possibility we see seven-plus tight ends come off the board by the end of Day 2, which hasn't happened since 2019 — and then 2014 before that.
- 10. Will Mallory, Miami (FL) (RS Senior | 6-5, 245)
- 9. Davis Allen, Clemson (Senior | 6-6, 250)
- 8. Brevyn Spann-Ford, Minnesota (RS Senior | 6-7, 270)

INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE
This is one of the weaker interior offensive line classes since PFF started grading college football in 2014. It takes only five interior offensive linemen on the PFF draft board before we are out of Day 2 draft grades.
- 10. Atonio Mafi, UCLA (RS Senior | 6-4, 339)
- 9. Braeden Daniels, Utah (RS Senior | 6-4, 297)
- 8. Jarrett Patterson, Notre Dame (RS Senior | 6-4, 310)

OFFENSIVE TACKLE
The 2023 offensive tackle class may not feature the top-end talent of the 2022 group that included three top-10 picks and five first-rounders, but the depth into Day 2 is still there.
- 10. Dawand Jones, Ohio State (Senior | 6-8, 359)
- 9. Matthew Bergeron, Syracuse (RS Junior | 6-5, 322)
- 8. Jonah Monheim, USC (RS Sophomore | 6-5, 295)

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
This is as diverse a defensive tackle class as I’ve seen in a few years. This top includes almost every body type you can think of, from tiny three-techniques to long five-techniques and massive nose tackles.
- 10. Jer’Zhan Newton, Illinois (RS Sophomore | 6-2, 295)
- 9. Keondre Coburn, Texas (RS Senior | 6-2, 344)
- 8. Keeanu Benton, Wisconsin (Senior | 6-4, 315)

EDGE DEFENDER
The 2023 edge defender class is a deep, deep group with potential impact players stretching into Day 2. The crown jewels are at the top, though.
- 10. Zach Harrison, Ohio State (Senior | 6-6, 271)
- 9. Will McDonald IV, Iowa State (RS Senior | 6-3, 236)
- 8. Andre Carter, Army (RS Junior | 6-7, 260)

LINEBACKER
This is no linebacker class. After initial evaluations, there’s a good chance that there’s only one off the board (or possibly none) by the end of the first round. And you don’t even have to get 10 linebackers deep before the Day 2 grades are exhausted. There’s still talent, but many are still projects.
- 10. Payton Wilson, N.C. State (RS Senior | 6-4, 229 pounds)
- 9. Cam Jones, Indiana (RS Senior | 6-3, 227)
- 8. Dorian Williams, Tulane (Senior | 6-2, 230)

CORNERBACK
There are cornerbacks who ranked inside the top 100 on PFF's draft board who didn’t even make this list. It’s a good year to be in need of coverage help.
- 10. Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, TCU (Senior | 5-9, 180)
- 9. Deonte Banks, Maryland (RS Junior | 6-2, 205)
- 8. Garrett Williams, Syracuse (RS Junior | 6-0, 189)

SAFETY
The 2023 NFL Draft safety class should provide a deep talent pool throughout Day 2 of the draft. It offers one of the best groups of slot cornerbacks in recent memory along with some size-speed freaks and versatile safeties.
- 10. Jartavius Martin, Illinois (RS Senior | 6-0, 195)
- 9. Brandon Joseph, Notre Dame (RS Junior | 6-1, 196)
- 8. Christopher Smith, Georgia (RS Senior | 5-11, 195)
